A Living Heritage of Sichuan Craftsmanship
The Yingjing black sand pot is a 2000-year-old traditional craft from Yingjing, Sichuan — officially listed as a national intangible cultural heritage. Each pot is hand-thrown from natural white-adobe clay and fired in a traditional mantou kiln, giving it a unique, unglazed surface that needs no chemical coating.
Its dense structure minimises water seepage and maximises heat conduction. The thick walls store heat superbly, so the pot keeps gently simmering even after leaving the heat — perfect for slow braising, herbal soups, congee and brewing herbal medicine.
